About me
“The Curious Paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Carl Rogers
Welcome. My name is Eva Bloomfield and I am a fully qualified and insured Integrative Counsellor. Being integrative means I have trained in a range of therapeutic approaches and draw from those that best support you and your needs. These may include Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic approaches, and Attachment Theory.
My interest in counselling began at university, where I studied Psychology. Following this, I gained over ten years of experience in education as a fully qualified teacher, supporting children, young people and their families. This included delivering emotional literacy support to both individuals and groups alongside neurodiversity support. These experiences have strengthened my ability to create a calm, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings safely.
As part of my counselling training, I completed a placement at a local charity supporting young people and adults with their mental wellbeing. I continue to volunteer there, which enables me to further develop my practice and remain connected to the community.
I am a member of the BACP (the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), which means I abide by their code of ethics. I am fully insured and undertake monthly supervision to reflect on my work and maintain high standards. I am committed to participating in continued professional development to further my understanding and practice; I am currently completing a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
I have also received additional training in: Disordered Eating, Bereavement, Neurodiversity, Attachment, Creative Tools and ‘Walk and Talk’ counselling.
I am currently completing a Level 5 qualification in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
